Purpose of Hot Tapping:

✅ 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞-𝗢-𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗴: Isolate a pipeline section by installing a LOCK-O-RING plug & blind flange.

Competent, Qualified Person

OSHA use the term “competent person” in dozens of standards for person serving a variety of roles.

On definition [ from 196.32(f) ], the term “competent person,” refers to an individual who can identify existing and potential hazards in the environment or working conditions that pose a risk to employees, and who has the authority to take immediate corrective action to eliminate those hazards.

A “qualified person,” on the other hand, is defined as someone who, through possession of a recognized degree, certification, or professional standing, or through extensive knowledge, training, and experience, has demonstrated the ability to address and resolve issues related to the subject matter, work, or project.
